Birth
As your birth Doula I will meet with you at least twice to get to know you, what it is you envision for your birth, and figure out how I can best facilitate your needs. We will discuss different scenarios and situations so that you will feel fully prepared and knowledgeable to take on any thing that comes your way during your pregnancy, birth and postpartum. I am happy to get together with you as much as you would like to ensure you are feeling confident and free of worry about your impending labor and baby's birth, as well as to help prepare your home for the arrival of your new family member!
From there, I am on-call for you 24/7. When you feel you may be in active labor, you can contact me and I will come to you to support you in whatever way(s) you need. This can be in your home, or at your birth center or hospital.
When your baby is born, I will stay with you for a minimum of 1 hour to make sure you are well taken care of, that you feel comfortable, and to answer any questions you may have whether they be about breastfeeding, caring for your baby, or anything else that might be on your mind. I will then come see you at home, typically 2 weeks after your baby's birth day, to check up on you and your family, and to see how you are adapting to life with your new family member. Though this is often times the end of my relationship with you as your Doula, I will continue to be available to you should you have any questions, concerns, or you just need a little extra help in adapting to your new role as a parent.

Postpartum
The benefits of having a Postpartum Doula far exceed any kind of gizmo or gadget you can find in any store when it comes to helping you care for your baby. During your Postpartum healing, you will have hormonal fluctuation. Your body is adapting to not being pregnant, as well as creating milk that will not only feed your baby, but nourishes their whole being. You will have a whole new life to adjust to. We live in a Country where women are expected to go back to work in some shape or form (whether it be to the office or back to keeping house and raising children) almost immediately after giving birth. It is hard to believe that so many get through it with little to no help, and still manage to feel good at the end of the day.
Having a Postpartum Doula significantly decreases your chances of suffering through Postpartum Blues or Postpartum Depression. A Postparum Doula will care for you and the things around you so that you can focus on what is really important: bonding with your baby, and allowing your body to heal from the incredible accomplishment it has made. Helping you initiate and build a breastfeeding relationship, preparing nutritious meals for you and your family, running errands that can not be dismissed, doing laundry and other home maintenance are only a few of the things I can do for you as your Postpartum Doula.

Placenta Encapsulation
At this time I no longer offer Placenta Encapsulation, but still firmly believe in it's wonderful benefits. If you would like information on having your Placenta encapsulated, I suggest getting in touch with my good friends Jesse Albatrosov of Baby Roots Birth or Katie Del Buono of Healing Tree Encapsulation.
Service Fees
Please contact me about your options and for information on my fees for these services. I do give a discount to families who have one or more (immediate) members in the military, as well as teachers, police, firefighters and EMTs. I also offer gift certificates should you like to "register" a Doula (birth and/or postpartum) or Placenta Encapsulation as a shower gift!
